Wearing & care

How long can contact lenses be worn per day?

The recommended wearing time can vary depending on the lens type. You'll find the exact wearing time in the respective product description. For a comfortable wearing experience, you should not exceed the recommended wearing time.

Can you sleep with contact lenses?

No, you must never sleep with contact lenses in. The tissue of your eyes needs oxygen to function properly. When you are awake, your open eye gets oxygen from your tears and from the air.

Can you shower or swim with contact lenses?

No, you should avoid showering and swimming with contact lenses to prevent bacterial contamination of the eye. It can lead to eye infections, irritation and, in the worst case, sight-threatening conditions such as a corneal ulcer.

How should the lenses be stored?

After wearing, store your contact lenses only in the designated case with all-in-one solution.

Please never clean contact lenses with water. Water contains impurities that can settle on the lenses and cause infections.

Is there a way to put in contact lenses faster and more easily?

With tweezers and a suction applicator, which you can also order from us, you can put in lenses more easily and hygienically.

Carefully take the lens out of the case with the tweezers and place it the right way round on the suction applicator. Then carefully guide the applicator to your eyeball until the lens adheres.

Can you use eye drops while wearing lenses?

While wearing contact lenses, you should only use eye drops that are suitable for contact lenses.

After removing them, you can use any eye drops. For dry eyes, we recommend moistening your eyes with rewetting drops before removing the lenses.

Why do contact lenses burn or sting when worn?

A burning or stinging sensation can be caused by dryness, foreign particles such as dust on the lens, or deposits. Check the lenses, clean them thoroughly and use suitable eye drops to keep your eyes moist.

Can contact lenses slip behind the eye?

No, contact lenses cannot slip behind the eye. The conjunctiva prevents this. If a lens shifts, it can move under the upper or lower eyelid. It can usually be easily massaged out again or rinsed out with saline solution.

Product & safety

Which certifications do the contact lenses have?

Our contact lenses comply with the applicable EU regulations and are subject to strict quality controls. They are TÜV-tested, CE-certified and ISO-compliant to guarantee the highest safety and quality standards.

Why do the contact lenses move in the eye and not stay in the desired position?

A common reason is a base curve and diameter that don't match your eyes. The curvature of the eyes differs from person to person. If the lens fits too tightly, there is no movement. If it fits too loosely, it moves too much. We therefore recommend seeing an optician before wearing them for the first time and having your eyes examined.

Why do I still see some of the colour with non-prescription coloured contact lenses, even though I normally wear prescription lenses?

The difference between normal contact lenses and non-prescription coloured contact lenses can cause slight changes in vision. Coloured lenses are mainly intended for cosmetic purposes and may sit differently on the eye. This can lead to slight blurriness or altered colour perception. For clear vision and the desired eye colour, you should consider coloured contact lenses with prescription. It's best to get advice from an ophthalmologist or optician.

Is a prescription required to buy contact lenses?

In most cases, a fitting by an ophthalmologist or optician is advisable. Non-prescription coloured contact lenses are subject to the same legal regulations as regular contact lenses. The specialist determines the right parameters so that the lenses fit well and don't cause any health problems. Even with perfect eyesight, professional advice is important for fit and safe use.

Can I still use contact lenses after the best-before date if they are unopened?

We strongly advise against using contact lenses after the best-before date, even if they are unopened. Sterility and quality may be compromised, which can lead to infections or other eye problems.

I have yearly lenses with a best-before date of e.g. 01.02.2028. How long can I use them?

If you open the lenses before 01.02.2028, you can wear them for one year, i.e. until 31.01.2029 at the latest.

If you only open them after 01.02.2028, you should no longer use them, as the manufacturer no longer guarantees quality and sterility.

Important: The lenses must be opened before the best-before date, otherwise they are no longer safe to use.
